MODULE ONE- WEEK ONE
My hope is that you will develop the leadership and coordination skills needed to plan, organize, and safely implement recreational events and other activities related to healthy, active living.
You will also learn how to promote the benefits of healthy, active living to others through mentoring and assisting them in making informed decisions that enhance their well-being.
This course will prepare you for university programs in physical education and health and kinesiology and for college and university programs in recreation and leisure management, fitness and health promotion, and fitness leadership.
Everyone can be a LEADER- you are about to learn what kind of leader you are!
WEEK ONE
This week is really designed for getting to know each other and coming up with how we want this class to go.
There is a lot of curriculum to cover but how we do that is really up to you. When it is time to listen and to work (if you are all able and agreeable) that is what we will do- check boxes if you will. But I believe the best way to learn anything is to PRACTICE IT!
We are going to DO things as a group. We are going to get out of our comfort zones and try new things, we are going to challenge each other to become better and I hope you will leave this course with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
